Humidity and Temperature
Maintain the correct environmental parameters for healthy dart frogs.
Temperature Ranges
Most dart frogs thrive at 70–78°F (21–26°C) during the day with a slight drop at night. Highland species prefer 65–72°F. Use a digital thermometer/hygrometer combo placed at frog level. Avoid heat lamps directly on the enclosure — they dry the air rapidly.
Humidity Requirements
Target 70–90% humidity depending on species. Mist 1–2 times daily with dechlorinated or RO water. Ensure adequate ventilation — stagnant high humidity causes respiratory issues. A partially open screen top or computer fan on a timer helps balance airflow.
Monitoring Tools
Use digital hygrometer/thermometer probes at substrate level and mid-enclosure. Data loggers help identify trends. React quickly to readings outside your species' range.
